Want to Fly at Dunlap? Here is what you need to do.
Permission to Fly Dunlap.
It is easy to obtain permission to fly at Dunlap. You must be a current USHPA member. You must have a rating of H3/P3 or above to fly without supervision. Last, you must pay your annual flying fees to the Dunlap Flight Park Club, prior to flying. These fees are $20 which help offset the cost of running the launch site. The fees go directly to the cost of the lease, site insurance, and maintenance and upkeep of the launch. That means that we are able to provide an outhouse which is serviced regularly and are able to do mowing, weed eating and weed control on vegetation. It also allows us to maintain the ramp in good solid conditon. We offer fire control clearnace to the landowners as well in order to ensure their cabin stays safe. So what do you need to do check in? Our flying fees cover from January 1 to December 31 each year, there are no prorated rates. Your fees may be paid at any time prior to your first flight of the season. This can be done by mail, in person, in our drop box mailbox located at 40148 Millwood Road, or by paypal. All we ask is that you let us know by email or a phone call when you will be flying the site. This allows us to make you apprised of any flying hazards or changes that may have occurred since your last visit. Occassionally we have to close launch for fires, personal uses by the landowner, or a variety of other reasons. If you have a group that wants to visit or if you are planning a meet or fly-in we request at least two weeks notice. This provides us time to check that there are no conflicts with other local events or landowners. It also gives us the opportunity to let the local public know of your activities, as they like to watch. Upon signing up for the season we ask that you provide some type of contact information, preferrably an email address, this allows us to notify you of any changes at the site of which you may need to be aware, such as temporary site closures. If you choose to send in your fees, rather than bring them in person, please be sure to include your USHPA number, rating, and your contact information (email address). Once your fees have been recieved your name will appear here on the website as a current registered pilot. The names are update regularly, but not daily. If your name does not appear please contact us to find out the cause. All checks or money orders need to be made out to: Dunlap Flight Park How can you contact us?
